Use ISO codes like en, ar, or language-region like en-ae, en-gb. Every URL must be absolute (https://) and self-referencing across the whole set.

How to use this tool

On multilingual or multi-regional sites, hreflang tells search engines which version of a page to show each user. Getting it right avoids duplicate-content confusion and wrong-language listings. Add one row per version below; the tool outputs a valid rel="alternate" hreflang block, including an x-default fallback, ready for your <head> (or sitemap).

  • 1

List every version. Add a row for each language/region with its hreflang code and absolute URL — include the page itself.

  • 2

Set x-default. Point x-default at your best fallback (often the language selector or your main-market page).

  • 3

Copy into every page. Paste the same block into the <head> of all versions — hreflang must be reciprocal to work.

  • 4

Verify. Double-check codes are valid ISO language (and optional region) values; invalid codes are ignored by Google.
